The basic purpose for which integrative air spring system are conceived is to improve a vehicle’s dynamic performance.


All the suspensions share the same installation principle, which is to replace the rebound bumper with a system that dampens shocks more smoothly.


In practice, during normal use of motor vehicles – especially transport vehicles – the suspension should work in conditions that are near the middle of its operating range.


Unfortunately, however, when the vehicle is carrying a heavy load or when bumpy roads or undue manoeuvres cause the suspension to work at the limit of its travel range, the rebound bumpers step in.


These elements, normally made of rubber, play a highly important role in the suspension system, since they limit travel and prevent the moving parts of the suspension from coming into contact with the vehicle frame or body.


As earlier implied, the bumper is engaged only in fairly rare cases: when this occurs the vehicle structure is subjected to a shock, often a very intense one.


Over time this may undermine the overall conditions of the vehicle. Therefore, heavily loaded vehicles or ones that spend much of their life working near the limits of their capacity can be equipped with ”TOP DRIVE SYSTEM“ integrative air spring system.


Thanks to this system, the repeated impacts of the rebound bumper are eliminated and its function is taken over by an air spring, which absorbs shocks in a decidedly more harmonious manner, thereby enhancing driving comfort and above all extending the life of the whole vehicle, now subjected to significantly fewer stresses.





Should leakage or severe damage occur to the ”TOP DRIVE SYSTEM“ on one or both sides, the vehicle can nonetheless continue to run, at reduced speed, as the rubber part serves to replace the bumper removed at the time of installation.
